This caliber 7548 150m Quartz Water Resist diver watch is dated to 1980, which put it around the middle of the production run. It is in serviceable condition. There is discoloration around the lume of the hands but the dial and chapter ring are near perfect. The bezel is worn, and banged up, showing heavy use, however it rotates smoothly and clicks as it should. The case has been fully serviced with new gaskets, crown, stem, stem spring and washer. The threaded crown tube is worn and could use replacing, however it is suitable if kept from being submerged. The movement has also been serviced to ensure low frictions and battery longevity. The movement and calendar function as they should and show no signs of corrosion or water ingress. The crystal is flat with a frosted bevel, similar to the original spec’d oem. The case is well worn, however it is very clean and ready to wear.
Quartz watches make excellent daily wearers as do watches with day and date calendars, however it is a tool watch. It is also quite large, yet Seiko typically employs a short lug to lug distance so it will still wear well on a smaller wrist. This is an excellent, maybe the best watch for someone interested in getting into vintage divers.
