Seiko Chariot Two Hander

This model 0430 has a broad enamel dial, minimal bezel and case, thin lugs and roman numerals. The movement is the Cal.2220 and it functions solely as a two hander, meant for black tie events and the like. Further, the Cal.2220 is very minimal and features no hacking or complications. It forgoes a seconds hand as well. The movement is also hand winding. However it does have a high beat rate at 28800 and a fully jeweled train bridge, including the mainspring barrel. Planely speaking, the movement is designed for accuracy and longevity. The Chariot featured here is in excellent condition. The hands and dial are very clean and glossy. The case has some marks and a Kanji engraving on the caseback. The crown is in great condition - manual winding crowns will often exhibit a lot of wear, as they are the primary mode of adding power to the mainsping. A final note; the leather strap is vintage with a vintage buckle. It has been restored with a fresh backing and edge paint. I couldn’t image a better strap suited for this watch.

This isn’t the most practical everyday watch, however could be worn on occasion, even to the office depending on the attire. Traditionally slim two handers were worn during black tie occasions. As for sizing, it has a large crystal at 31mm yet the case itself is just a millimeter more. This combination make for an all dial look. The effect is really impressive, its very legible and hardly noticeable on the wrist.
