Presmatic High Beat 30J

This Presmatic 30J Hi-Beat, Caliber 5146 is in excellent condition. The dial and hands are very clean. The case retains the original radial brushing on the top surface, however with some dents and nicks. The movement shows very good performance and has a new mainspring. This giving the movement more consistent, higher amplitude for better timekeeping. The case style of the top grade 5146-7080 resembles the KS45-8010 chronometer; something between a cushion case and a smooth, oblong river rock. The bottom is flat but the case sides are turned up and polished. The day/date calendar has an instant change-over at midnight. This example works as it should. The spring loaded push-to-advance crown is quite novel and works as expected. The case shape, handset and instant calendar change feel one of a part of Daini Seikosha's King and Grand Cal.45 series. In some ways, this 30J Presmatic could be considered an automatic counterpart to Daini's manual wind Cal. 45.

If you appreciate the look and history of the caliber 45 watches but prefer an automatic, this is an excellent choice. This is also an excellent every day watch as the day/day is very practical and the automatic doesn't require daily winding. The case is larger when compared to typical vintage watch sizing. This is a good choice for someone who has a larger wrist or is looking for a watch with strong wrist presence.
